Classroom General Information
- Sign-in/out daily.Please check for notes and reminders on white board.
- If you need to leave us a note, please use the communication log.
- Cubbies-please keep an extra set of clothes in a ziploc bag: t-shirt, shorts, socks, underwear. If weather is cold you may want to switch to long sleeve or pants. If a child is sent home with soiled clothes please send in another set of clothes for cubby the next day. Label all tags with child's name.
- Rotating group centers-Your child will be placed into one of the three groups (zebras, lions, or giraffe's)These are not necessarily permanent groups for the year.
- A morning snack is provided. An afternoon snack will be provided if your child stays for daycare.
- Please send your child to school with their own lunch. Per licensing regulations, an ice pack is required in lunch bag. We do not warm food for children. Label all containers, including lids.
- Please send a clean water bottle to school with your child daily.
- Children must be potty trained. Children are encouraged to wipe on their own at least once before teacher assists. Our goal is to prepare them for kindergarten.
- Rest time is approximately one-hour. Mats and sheets are provided. Children may bring one small blanket for rest time. Toys or stuffed animals are not permitted. A parent volunteer will wash sheets weekly. Please take home blankets weekly for washing.
- Birthdays-Your child may wear Free Dress Code B on their special day. You may provide a treat to share with the class (optional) and we can celebrate together (check with teacher regarding allergies)! If you are planning a party outside of school, invitations may not be given out by teacher unless the whole class is invited. Teachers may not share out families phone numbers or emails, without permission.
- Star of the Week- Each child will go home with a poster to decorate. Once complete they may bring back to school to share with the class. This child also gets to be the line leader for the week. This is a great way to learn a little about your child.
- Classroom jobs begin once we get through all children having their turn as Star of the Week. Children will have the opportunity to assist teachers with daily tasks, which helps teach them responsibility.
- Lancer Folders-will go home on Fridays. Please sign the back, leave comments(optional), and return on Monday.
Procedures
- Absences-call by 8:30 & send a note or email UPON RETURN.
- Drop-in: if you are enrolled less than 5 days and you are in need of care please inquire with director regarding availability. The rate is $10 per hour.
- Extended Daycare-Please let us know at drop off if you will be needing this extra care. If you cannot make it in time for regular day pick-up your child will be automatically put into extended day care.
- Assessments-Your child will be assessed 3x per year. There will be one mandatory Parent/Teacher Conference. At this time we will go over the first progress report. The next two reports will be sent home in the Lancer folder. If you would like to set an appointment to go over your child's progress please see the director.
- Field Trips- we may take a few trips throughout the year. Examples: Pumpkin Patch, Zoo, Museum, Sea Center, or parks. The Fire Dept. and other agencies typically come to us. If you would like to volunteer to drive on a field trip please be prepared to submit a copy of drivers license, valid vehicle insurance, signed virtus code of conduct, and be fingerprinted.
- Fundraisers per tuition agreement- Auction $100 basket donation, Move-a-Thon $75, Spring Raffle $150,
- Communication via website (weekly Wednesday newsletter from Mrs. Simolon, Friday Newsletter from Preschool Director. Monthly snack menus and theme calendars will be sent out at the beginning of each month.
- Visitors and volunteers-please always check-in at school office and apply sticker. Report all hours monthly on-line. Volunteers will need to be fingerprinted.
